 Monica Regalbuto 

Monica Regalbuto and her husband John have lived in Glenview for 22 years.  Their three children are either attending or have graduated from Glenbrook South High School.  Monica is the head of the Process Chemistry and Engineering Department at Argonne National Laboratory and isan affiliated researcher with Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  She manages a group of 30 scientists, engineers and technicians and has over 20 years of industrial and research experience.  Monica received a B.S. from ITESM, Mexico and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.  She has over 30 scientific publications and five patents. In 2007, she received the Hispanic Professional Engineer National Achievement Award, the American Nuclear Society Jane Oestmann Professional Women’s Achievement Award and her research was featured on the Discovery Science Channel.  She has been an invited speaker at GBS, Oakton Community College, Argonne and numerous universities.  In May 2009, she was named one of 25 outstanding Hispanic women in America by HispanicBusiness.com.
