Parents of Glenbrook North students who want to communicate with one of their son/daughter’s teachers in a language other than English may make arrangements to do so using the AT & T Language Line. The Language Line provides simultaneous translation for school communications in over a hundred languages. To access this service, parents are asked to contact Glenbrook North through our website: http://gbn.glenbrook.k12.il.us/ . If you do not know someone who can make that request for you in English, you may translate the request into English using www.google.com/language_tools. Go to the “translate” section of the page and type in your message. Use the dropdown menu to identify from which language you are translating to English. This web site offers translations in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Russian. Please list your name, your student’s name and I.D. number, your preferred language and the teacher to whom you wish to speak. Also, please provide a telephone number where you may be reached between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. We will get this information to the appropriate teacher who will telephone you and secure the translator on the line with you.
