Please join us for the Glenbrook South Aquatic Center Celebration and Family/Community Gym and Swim, on Sunday, October 18, from 1-4 p.m. Meet in the Aquatic Center balcony for a brief ceremony followed immediately by a family and community open house. All ages are invited to swim, splash and dive in the Aquatics Center, play basketball in the West Gym, or just have fun looking around. Refreshments will also be served in the Food Court.
Also offered following the brief ceremony are tours of GBS, focusing on the renovations and new construction that were part of the part of the referendum projects. Tours include: Science Classrooms, Student Activities Center, Orchestra Room, Cafeteria and Food Court, West Gym, Fitness Center and other new classrooms.
Guests are encouraged to park either in the west lot off of Lake Avenue and enter through the Pool Hallway, or in the northeast lot off of Pfingsten and enter through the cafeteria entrance.
The locker rooms and shower areas will be open for those who want to swim. Both pools, which are connected by a stairway entrance, will be available for swimmers: the original 25-yard, 6-lane east pool or the new 25-yard, 8-lane west pool. Diving boards are only in the new west pool where the depth conforms to current safety standards. Come out and enjoy the afternoon with us!
