12:30 p.m. GBS was informed that shots were possibly fired near Washington Road and Fontana Drive on the southern edge of Northfield Township. The Glenview Police Department has maintained that they had no reason to believe that there was any risk posed to GBS's students or staff. Commander Aider from the Glenview Police Department shared that Glenbrook South High School was not contacted immediately because the witness who heard shots conveyed that the sound of those shots came from a black car heading south on Washington Street into Maine Township.
As a result of the incident, the Glenview Police Department advised District 34 to have Springman go into a full lockdown and to have Henking and Hoffman Elementary Schools go into a soft lockdown (students continued learning, but did not change classes) between 11:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. At this point in time, no injuries or damage has been reported and the Glenview Police Department has shared that they have no suspects and that they are continuing to investigate the incident.
Have a safe weekend.
Sincerely,
Brian K. Wegley
